Welcome to all of our new starters for September 2020!
Firstly, we would like to say a big hello to all of our new families and to those families who may be returning with their younger children. Due to the current uncertainty around schools, we have made this webpage to support all of our new starters for September 2020. This page will be used to provide parents and carers with relevant information for their child, due to start in our Reception class in September 2020. Please keep checking back on this page for the latest developments and information.
We know that this process can be a mixed bag of emotions for parents and their children, especially during the school closures. There is lots of help and support available at: www.bbc.co.uk/startingprimaryschool
Please have a read through the information on this page which will also have been sent out to you in the post.
During the school closures please rest assured that we are still here to answer any of your questions and to make your child's transition into school life as smooth as possible.
Hope you are well. We have been awaiting information from the government regarding new starters for September, however we still haven’t had guidance on this so we have decided to get started on planning for this ourselves.
We thought it would be a good idea to meet parents/guardians prior to September and give you the opportunity to ask us any questions or voice any concerns. We can also discuss how September might look and the transition from Pre-School into the Reception class.
On Friday 10th July 2020 we will be hosting two meetings, one at 1pm and the other at 2pm. These will be hosted in the playground to ensure people can socially distance, we will have a back up room available if it does rain. To get to the main playground you will need to enter through the green gate which is up the road from the main school entrance, staff will be on hand to guide you to the correct location.
In line with guidelines we ask that only one parent/guardian attends the meeting and unfortunately we cannot allow children to come with you. We can arrange an alternative method of contact if this poses a problem so please do let us know.
We are only able to have 7 people at each of the meetings therefore we will allocate you to a meeting on a first come first served basis. If you could RSVP as soon as possible to Mrs Derbyshire, email@example.com , stating your preferred time slot for Friday 10th July 2020, either 1pm or 2pm, and then we will let you know which time slot you have been allocated.
We hope that during this meeting we will be able to answer any questions or queries and hopefully it will help us to understand how you see transition going and allow us to develop a plan for those first few weeks in September.
As we are all aware things may change in the meantime and we will keep you updated if anything does change.
Looking forward to meeting you next Friday.
